Creating her smallest pointillism work to date, with even finer dots than usual, Sam Poots has created a series of three works titled 'Rhythm of Time'.

Each work in the series shows a different stage of the lunar cycle, and a female form suspended or floating in response to the waning and waxing moon.

Quirky Fox recommends float framing the work and can provide framing to suit your taste and budget.

Quirky Fox: Art + Framing

Sam Poots is a full-time creative and recent graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours). Her passion lies in creating works recognising the native beauty of New Zealand. Poots's art also focuses on New Zealand's native wildlife species and recognising the need for sustainability within our whole system, creating a symbiotic relationship with nature is the key to our future and the future of what is so unique to Aotearoa.

Sam uses a pointillism technique to create her intricate and highly detailed pieces. The high-quality paper is a key aspect to her work finding a paper that is sustainable, durable, and clean. She using Rotring Rapidograph pens to get the finest of detail, the smallest pen nib being .10mm. She sees this as an added environmental factor as she can refill each cartridge, ultimately limiting her plastic waste from single-use pens.

Sam is a full-time environmental enthusiast and artist based in the heart of Hawke's Bay, growing up on the beautiful Mt Ruapehu, while embracing all of New Zealand's most native and magical species from the summit to sea.
