Producing highly detail illustrations in pencil, Anoushka Szybowski is inspired by the ever-changing beauty, the snippets of the untouched primal forest, the aliveness, the calls and movements of her forest surroundings.
Born in Israel to a French-Israeli father and a kiwi mother, Anoushka lived and received her education in New Zealand, although periods of her youth were also spent in Israel and France.
Currently living on the West Coast of the South Island, Anoushka graduated from Whitecliffe College of Art & Design, Auckland with a Fine Arts degree. Exhibiting in both solo and group shows across the country, Anoushka worked as an art teacher at Buller High School before becoming a full-time mum.
A self proclaimed “bird enthusiast”, Anoushka’s proximity to our native forests give her plenty of time to be inspired by our unique indigenous species of birds which surround her home.
