Quirky Fox: Art + Framing

Ruth Ju-shih Li is a Taiwanese-Australian artist whose ceramic works combine traditional, modern and abstract forms in order to examine the cultural confluence of identity as a global language. A recurring motif is her meditation on the fragile nature of self in relation to the paradoxes of time, life, death and spirituality.

Since graduating with an honours degree in 2013 from the National Art School, she now divides her time between Sydney, Taipei and the porcelain city of Jingdezhen where her studio is based. Li has exhibited internationally including Taoxichuan Museum, Jingdezhen Ceramics Museum and the National Taipei University of Arts to name a few.

She has also been invited to multiple projects and residencies including the Hua Hin International Art Residency in Thailand, Taoxichuan International Studio in China and Yingge ceramics Museum in Taiwan.
